So, am I to truly believe the current state of affairs?

The judge presiding over the Madoff case -- where an extremely important figurehead, who presided in a place of Trust (public and private), schemed his way to a $50B personal fund, ruining many, many, many lives (if not entire sub-economic dynamics via siphoning monetary fluidity) around the world in the process -- orders the defendant to wear an ankle bracelet and follow a curfew while on bail. It is a commonly known fact that if you ruin people financially the odds increase for depression and suicide -- and we're talking about mass-scale ruin here. The effects of what this guy has "allegedly" committed is comparable to a large-scale famine; comparable to the Detroit automobile crisis; comparable to a war in a 3rd world country -- and he gets an ankle bracelet.

Meanwhile, the judge at a Georgia traffic court orders a Muslim lady, who was simply intending to attend the court procedings in support of a relative, to 10 days in jail for refusing to take off her head scarf in court. She was taken into custody and cuffed "after" she was originally turned away at the checkpoint. Am I to believe that the same judge would order a Jewish man to remove his yarmulke? The effects of what this lady has committed (not "allegedly," considering her sentence) is comparable to using free speech; comparable to expressing Religious identity; comparable to expressing American ideals, freedoms and rights -- and she gets 10 days in jail.

Am I on the right planet? Really, like What the Fuck people? (pardon my expletive here -- please don't cuff me, place a black hood over my head, and torture me with waterboarding for uttering a vulgarity)... What's going on??

Just what does it take to become a judge in our country? How much do I have to pay someone off -- do I need connections to a state Governor? How stupid do I have to be to attain this illustrious position in life?

What flag do these judges pledge allegiance to -- and does Madoff own that country as well?
