The Tragedy of Twilight

By Dianas_Eclipse

I'm so tired that I can't fall asleep.
I can still sense your anguish,
even through your slumber.
How is it that you can be so humble ---
think so little of your own light
which you believe naught but a glimmer in the dark?
think yourself a failure, unworthy,
a fallen warrior, dark angel demon incarnate?
It kills me to witness it, because you are many things,
and almost all of them are the photo-negative opposites
of your opinion.
And don't give in to the shadowed angel in you just because
you hate the dragon curled around your furnace of a heart.
You haven't yet passed the point of no return;
and now I am your guide away from it.
You're stronger than anyone else here,
that's your tragedy.
Your strength fuels the dark suffering I ache to remedy.
That is MY tragedy,
and where our existence overlaps.
And, oh
what a beautiful disaster
it is.
