Bathed in Black and White

By DIATRICUS

With your lollipop smile
and the ring,
ring,
ring
of almost anything
that would not do--
all untrue.
And of the pulpit
nor the canter
in their purity,
however not forever
we shall see...

'Angels'
speak through the
fortunate men on television
of those things
most holy,
which can be attained with
a small donation,
infecting
the children of God
with false
hope and spirituality,
and addicting.

'Genies'
on the streets
offer a synthetic happiness
to soothe the day's hardships
and set the
soul on fire,
trading for a piece of mind,
infecting
the children of mankind
with false
strength and courage,
and addicting.

Be not mistaken
'tis quite forsaken--
for those who now echo below
the fields
of the red-stained grain,
do yet feel
the innocence
of that cold
unholy laughter...

once again.
