untitled

By Frater Synth

Once lost in darkness,
Hidden deep in the shadows of the ebon abyss,
Where pain and hatred dwell,

Tearing away at my mortal flesh.
A bright ray of light,
My eyes open wide,
Searching out the sun I once knew so well,

Yet it was nowhere to be found.
My eyes fell from the heavens I so long for,
They fell upon you in all your beauty,
Standing right there in front of me,
The first ray of hope in a long line of sadness.

You lay your gaze upon me,
Reaching out to me and giving me a black withered rose,
I look down as it gently pricks my finger,
And a drop of blood falls upon its leaves.

Slowly the rose rises,
The steam stiffens,
As the bright colors rush back into the flower,
I reach out of the shadows for your hand.

Our fingers interlace,
Light floods my world,
Revealing the beauty of garden so long hidden,
I whisper against your lips as we kiss.

“My heart is yours forever more”
