Six Years
By A Burning God
Six long years have passed since that fateful day
The day where a nation was torn apart
By four airplanes, and in a matter of hours
We were brought to our knees
Most of us were crying,
Be they man, woman, child, elder,
And we all watched the events in horror
Who could attack us like this?
What did we do to deserve this?
As those towers fell,
So did our hearts
Because we knew that we lost many innocent lives
Many businessmen, business women, policemen, and firemen
People who did nothing wrong.
They were only going through their daily routines,
Not knowing that some of them would have their lives cut off
By less than a dozen radical people
Who believed that America and the rest of the West must die.
But, we did nothing wrong,
We just exist, living in a similar manner to the rest of the world.
Even as I watch the replays of that horrific day on TV,
I shed tears for those who were lost, those who tried to escape their horrible
fate,
A fate that these people didn’t deserve.
I worry for those who fly,
Not just on this day, but any day
Because anyone can rebel against the captain of the plane,
The person, along with the rest of the crew, who help people
Who help progress the nation.
There can be no forgiveness for the people who were responsible for this,
For their actions are unforgivable, killing thousands of innocent lives,
For a belief that is incorrect, for a false ideal
Because if you think about it,
Every American came from the East,
From Europe, Asia, and Africa
And these people essentially attacked their own countrymen,
Just like they’re doing now,
Just as they’re resisting in the Middle East.
Even the Heavens cry out on this day,
Just like we did those six years ago.
My country bleeds again,
From those same wounds that we suffered those years past,
And I will forever mourn those who we lost on that day,
But I will never forget those who died,
And neither will I forgive those who did this,
I will never forget,
I will never forgive,
For what happens once will happen again.

I did not turn the TV on or look at a newpaper. For me the wounds are still raw and I don't need them to start bleeding again. I don't know how six years have passed in such a short time. Your poem... touched me. I'm glad to know that at least one other p
