Tears of sand

By Winter Born

And once again
My friends
I spend my early hours
Standing tall
Standing proud
Standing with my brothers

Hopefully I will again feel the kick
Hopefully, I will again hear the sound
Of 7.62 rounds
Drowning the sounds
Of the music in my ear

M240-B
My most trusted friend
My protector
Your protector

Hear the engine rev
Wheels on desert ground
wind in my face
Drowning the sounds
Of screams and rounds...

My lovely Winter Queen helped me finish/fix this one and now I am reposting it.

Tears of sand... I like it.
