Fog City

By glasshouse

Some how predict
My fatal flaw.
Fog City demise.
The long, slender arms
Of candle's flames,
The embrace of lover's eyes...

And bring me warning.

I'm unadorned
And drawn to the extravagant,
The lavish, the ornate.
A poet's heart
Romanticized,
A canvas to create...

And i am....blinding

The smog of poetry
Makes a lovely back drop
Out of the dead and dying

  • A former member wrote: Imaginative and well written. I like the word play that you used in this. Very much a great piece of poetry.

  • A former member wrote: fantastic ending. ..mayhap a call for the reclaiming of romanticism and less destruction in words. . .? in that we use our wounds as words too much, a somber eloquent piece. .
