Twists in Fate

By caustic ink

A special thanks to Nikesrain for her assistance and tweaking on this one.

Falling into despair.
fingers grasping at air.
Looking for something to grab onto
but there was nothing.

Just the void that you left
In my life,
In my heart.

Everything I did
never seemed enough.
All the words you said
reeked of the staleness of your lies.
Three words you once said
with total indifference
oozed with the poison
of your serpent tongue.

My life…
In a tailspin.
In my eyes, it was over,
nothing left to live for
failed yet again.

Then I was blessed by an angel,
who showed me what love was,
what it could be,
how wondrous it feels.
Now the sadness is gone.
The pained chapter is over.
A future of bliss is what I will have.

Now it's your life in a tailspin,
regreting all your lies.
But you reap what you sow,
and it's heartache you harvest
while I've harvested true love.
Because of my angel,
I'd never change a thing.

The pain has all passed.
You are but a memory
of a life that once was,
but was
never complete.

the beginning still crushes me every time, yet the shift and movement through it is like walking through a tunnel, nearing the opposite side and finding the sky brightening... and i'm glad 'she' is the one regretting every vile thing she did....
