Dream of Blood

By TheReap

Broken dream
A nightmare’s end
Finally awake

Pounding heart
Sweating body
Sanity at stake

Sticky hands
I wiped my face
Scent of drying blood

Blood red moon
Through tears of red
Emotions a flood

Fear sets in
What have I done?
Shot right out of bed

Light switched on
A ghastly scene
Corpse without a head

Pissed me off
You Fuckin’ whore
Killed you in my sleep

Sorrow looms
I look at you
Only then I weep

Pinch myself
Try to wake up
This is not a dream

Alarm clock
We both wake up
Dreams, not what they seem

*Author’s note : When the fuck did nightmares become night terrors? Seems stupid. Night Terrors on Elm Street.

Cold and dark this one is. Gruesome imagery. Well done and well laid out. -Michael

On a different note, Night Terrors and Nightmares are two different things. They happen at different phases in the sleep cycle. You can read about it here: http://www.nightterrors.org/ -Michael
