On the Edge of the Ocean
By Fading_Smile
Hand in hand we sauntered like convicted spirits,
destined to linger on this morose shoreline,
daunted by eachothers words
(your's are salt to my eyes)
Rushing at our feet, serenity came and went,
bearing loneliness and abandoned questions,
facing inland, you proclaimed
"oh, there is naught, but sand"
I waited for divinity in a bottle
entranced by the amber glow of your deceit,
behold the ocean whipsers
secrets I've always known
this is a fallacy within itself
"For I see the remnants of one thousand castles,
trampled by your perfect waves, unforgotten.
Build your self righteous mountain,
its summit knows no joy"
My eyes will cry your tears no more
The wind blew through our hearts like gold dust
embedding itself in our souls, and surely we
will grow to despise eachothers smiles
At last, waves crashing,
our eyes then met,
and I fell in love with
the sunset behind you

I have no clue what to say..you've pretty much summed it all up. You have an incredible talent not only with expression but with your use of every word under the sun... ~Lost

"and I fell in love with/the sunset behind you" The imagery in this is excellent...every line another pillar of strength holding up your heartstrings. Wonderful. ~*Beth*~
