Wear and Tear

By call to arms

Patiently awaiting the day the sky finally opens up and swallows her whole.
Patiently?
That's all she's done her entire life.
Patiently waited.
Waited for her good day.
Waited for her chance to speak.
Waited for her rainbow,
And for the whole world to finally open it's eyes.

She's grown weary waiting,
yet she never allows herself to become bitter.

But she almost feels...
doomed.

Still, she waits, and hopes, and prays;
Even though they laugh in her face.

And if she had what she needed,
To find what she need,
She'd leave without a second thought.

You cannot scale a mountain
With sewing thread and stilletos,
And you just can't win
When you're already defeated.

This is to throwing in the towel.
