Untitled for the moment

By SilentDreamer

The sun rises,
the rays shed light,
on two young friends,
forming a bond to last a lifetime.
As they big up worms,
play games together,
spend long days on the lake,
learning to fish.

The sun sits midway between.
marking a change in the two lives.
One went away for school,
the other stayed.
Paths changed,
trial after trial,
a bond still there.

The sun has reached it’s peak,
rays shedding light on the two friends.
Together again,
sitting on the same blue boat,
that held so many memories,
catching up but things left out.
The news dropped.
Air force.

The setting sun sits between,
high noon and sunset.
The rays still strong,
split between two states.
One with a steady job,
in a new state,
a grasp on life a time.
The other,
in the home state of the two,
trying to grasp life.
Neither talking to each other,
both going on with life.

The sun sets.
The rays reaching out,
in a colorful display,
proving that it will rise again,
just as the two have.
One long night,
started it all over again.
New things talked about,
new topics touched.
The rekindled friendship is open for change.

As the moon rises and shines.
Shedding a shimmering glint on the future of the two.
They will grow,
together or apart,
stronger then before.
The bond of friendship tying them together.
No matter the miles,
or the span of time words don’t flow,
the bond will remain strong through it all.

As the sun rises once again.
Shedding light on another day,
on the two friends,
as they form a bond to last a lifetime.
