Black Christmas

By Mathesix

It was held in a raincloud, this jilted facade
Teeming with the looks of a more popular crowd
The dancing minstrality of a harlequin rigidity
And eight glasses of eggnog

Laced with your favorite drink...

Cacauphony of colors you tasted abroad
The sweet poinsetta similes of a makeshift holiday shroud
Mistaken for candles you set them ablaze
Good wishes and cheers to us all

Or to the few faces you could decipher...

A farewell toast off-key in A Minor
A swirling of skirts in the hedonistic haze
Masochistic maze your municipal dissection
Of every rope we extend

-Playtime's over, stop pretending
That every eye is on you, and every word pertains
To ascertain you true intentions
And pick which boy you shall date-

Three daquiris past midnight and unaware
Of a charlatan happiness, numb to the pain
Drinking to forget the abject rejection
Wishing for a gunshot to end the trepidation
