The Blade

By monalisamarie

In the backseat / of a skeletal car
On the desert sand / lit by burning stars
The moon bleeds down / the darkest purple sky
And I stare into eternity / though the dark of your eyes

I’m bleeding! And you’re a bandage

The land is dead / we’re the only ones alive
For when the land was living / we were the first to die
The wind howls eerie / as it blows though bare trees
You are steady as stone / I shake like a leaf

I’m bleeding! And you’re a bandage

I want you but can’t speak / you’ll know by the tremble of my lip
So you pull me a little closer / and I tighten my grip
The world melts away / time and matter find an end
I close my eyes then feel your lips / and my heart beats again

I’m bleeding...

And if you’re a bandage / then I’m the wound, baby
Our faces so close / yours light mine shady
When you’re here I won’t cry / and if you go away
I’ll still be the wound / but you’ll be the blade

The last lines were beautiful. Nicely done, very unique style and subject, I enjoyed this immensely. :-D Wonderfully done.
