drastic measures

By Nuada

one, two, three
the arm moves in a wide arc.
four five, six, a gentle thump
seven, eig... then chaos erupts
promethus unleashed
screams of pain death and dying
tear at my ears
nine, ten, eleven
quickly look about.
A hornet still trys to sting
twelve, thirteen, fourteen
reverse direction and crawl about
there it is
get a good line of sight
fifteen, sixteen, seventeen
a gentle tap to my shoulder
the work is done
the red haze of adrenalin disspates
replaced by a void
of emotions, and thought.

so removed-- I thought at first about what is close to home in regards to people "losing it" then it really dawned on me, and pulled me out, reminding of how my father said that after bootcamp, he had become capable of shooting civilians.

an amazing plummet. a rise. a ripple. intoxicatingly portrayed, winding up a helix of emotion(s).
