Mother Ocean (Unfinished)

By Ghost One

Adrift upon her endless rolling bosom…
She calls to me to drink of her body…
Feast upon her offerings…
And throw myself unto her merciless depths.

Aye, a siren’s call off the starboard side…
Do I give into it’s eerie melody and swim to my doom?
Am I to fall victim to her tantalizing cries?
A seaman’s worst fears come to life…
In the embodiment of an imagined song…
Pleasing to all who hear it…
And comforting to all those betrayed by it.
Comfort not coming in safety…
But in the long slumber beneath her vast blanket of cold darkness.

No I will not fall under her spell this time…
I understand and respect her dangers.
For which I shall, one day, give myself unto her insatiable appetite.
I shall return to her body to melt away and become a part of her salty core.

But alas my time is not up yet…
That time shall eventually fall upon me…
Yet for now I remain an infant upon her rocking arms..

I stand upon my decks and feel her sweet breath rush around me…
Filling my lungs with live and love.
Her soft spray moistening my cheeks as my vessel disturbs her slumber…
The perspiration of her mass falling gently upon me…
The final warning signs of a squall.
Aye sir…
Tis but a small rainfall…
No winds kicking up today…
She is forgiving for now…
But do not take this lightly…
When her temper flares she can drown the greatest of seamen.

My respect for her flows deeply from my love for her…
She made me a man when I was a child…
She bestowed upon me gifts from her body when I hungered…
She gave unto me water to be purified and drank…
She granted me life when she could have taken it…

Never disrespect the lady…
For she grants you life…
Her currents are our home’s bloodstream…
Her depths our origin’s melting pot...
Her children our nourishment…

She is the beginning…
She is the end…
She is…
