it's worse
than you thought
what I've done
the horror
that I've brought
the pain
that I sought
I dug it out
of her flesh
I ripped it
from her soul
I left it there
bare
in sight
of anybody who cared
the strange thing is
nobody seemed to
nobody came to claim
she lay there to rot
maggots eating at her crotch
flies laying eggs in her mouth
that my hand had covered
to smother the sound
her eyes left staring
at the unforgiving sky
the sun way up high
does dead flesh sunburn
I wonder?
