Two Block Radius

By johntaiyu

He lives under the bridge
and was home the night
the tornado came;
along with four friends,
they rode out the storm
screaming in chorus
as the air was sucked
from their fluid filled lungs.

On nothing
but weak legs and sore feet,
his turf pretty much runs
from the bridge to the Kum & Go,
two blocks away.

So, even though it's been in the papers
and all over TV,
no one told him
how bad
the tornado was
to the other side of town.

Of course those folks,
who's homes blew away,
weren't under no bridges, either,
and probably didn't scream
near as loud.
