Circus Of The Damned

By Muse

Come one my friend, yes, come ye all!
Enter the fairground where you shall fall!
The rides are all free, the games are all fun
You just must be out by the rise of the sun

A spinning carousel will take you around
Hellhounds and demons a-wailing their sound
Their backs are all broken, their minds are all bent
All of the throwbacks that Lucifer sent

A side show, a freak show for you young and old
Mutated beings with stories untold
With flesh rotting off and eyes rolling wild
You can bet on your life you’ll have fun, my dear child

A fun house that’s run by the ghosts of the dead
Shrieking and laughing to mess with your head
Mirrors that hide a vampire inside
Patiently waiting to test the untried

Our dear Mr. Loup will watch from a shadow
(We have to keep out the riff-raff you know…)
A silver backed werewolf that’s dear to our hearts
Our scarred, one eyed bouncer with a bite worse than bark

And let’s not forget the games, my dear friend!
Truly it’s here that the fun never ends!
Shatter the pyramid of six shrunken heads
Celebrate and turn for your prize that’s undead

Alas, our time, it is just about up
The sun will be rising; it’s our time to sup
So go home ye freaks, away with ye dogs
Go home to your caves, your huts and your bogs

But come again soon, this evening’s a must
Arise from your pits and come around dusk
The air will ring with your jeering and screams
Come see for real your most horrid of dreams!
