[forever cynical]

By drop dead des

it was summer time
when we were nine
feet buried in the
sun warmed sand
I lost my.self
in the ocean's song
and I drifted out
to the great beyond
you caught my hand
/as the crushing blue waves
sent me deeper
into the shadows/
and pulled me
back to the shore

you showed me your
castle made of sand
and promised me
as you took me
by the hand
that we would live
there one day

but as the years
have drifted on by)e
you have lost
that gleam in your eyes
;somewhere out there
in the deepest blue
of the salty sea;
and the dark clouds
hang low again
on the ocean shore
where our dreams and ambitions
came to die

(the world is not coming to an end
it just feels like it)
