Beef Tacos

By johntaiyu

You can spend your time
thinking about the chicken or beef tacos for lunch
or deciding which reality show to watch on TV
or fretting over the road construction between here and work
until at some point
there really isn't anything left to do
except freeze a grimace on your tired face
and simply wait to die
hoping somehow you were correct
when you put all your eggs
in Jesus' basket
in the hope
that finally
the anxiety your life has become
will magically lift itself away
as you ride out time
up there in heaven
for all eternity.

Or not.
