What is Love?

What is Love?
It is Nothing
But that which chains us
To another’s Heart, another’s Soul.
It is that which gives Another
The power to Hurt and Destroy.
Why must I Love you?
Why does my Heart betray me
Leading me down the path of Agony
Where you will slaughter my Emotions
With your Indifference?
I anticipate the feeling
Of the Beast closing his teeth
Around my Heart
Ripping it from my Breast.
I love too much, but why must I love at all?
Why do I willingly give my Heart
When I know that it will be Destroyed?
Why must I keep Hoping
That someone will Love me
For who I am
Instead of in spite of ?
I hang my head in acceptance of the Inevitable……
