The eye of god

By LordBrosnian

But once a month I feel the venom drain from neath my womb
Like fog it drifts athwart the violet plains
Like dew it builds atop the clouds as veins
To be enthralled beside the fridged moon

And as the first week passes I can feel the ease subside
As mem'ries from the passing ages sting
...My eyes...and with the feeling that it brings
comes fear from knowing what beyond now hides

when day fourteen arrives my fingers slowly loose their grip
upon what goals and dreams may soar abroad
With might which could bring death upon the gods
...From lonely lips the will to smile is Ripped

once three weeks time has chizzled every hour in my face
the mem'ries push too strong unto my knees
So much my aching soul can find no sleep
And thro' the waking night hours I pace

Until the night that wretched pearl soars blazing in the sky
Like god's tribunal eye which never winks!
It burns my eyes while hiding neath the sheets
And dries my ducts so much They cannot leak!

But once a month I see the same scene in the eye of mind
Strong words shared 'twixt young lovers in the night
When one was rendered far to weak to fight...and
forced to flee the trials of his time

"Sweet queen my will has led me to the cliffs of grave decision
I know my fate inside now is to jump
And face what trials lay ahead no matter of the cost
For present scenes have forced my throat to lump

But please don't fret I shall be back to claim you as my bride
Once I've grown to fit the title "man"
When I return your fate shall be to clasp upon my side
brandishing my band upon your hand

But when the air without me seems to thick to freely breathe...and
Nights without my warmth grow cold and stale
I beg of YOU! look to the violet sky which holds that pearl...and
Gaze upon the eye of god so pale

And know that every night when I am stricken with the grief
Of leaving such a queen to find my soul
I shall be drinking from that moon with leaking eyes of love
dreaming of the day we can be whole"

"I will, she said,"and know that you will always have my heart
which no season of god shalt ever ware
No matter of the time it takes for you to venture back
I know that in the moon you shall be there"

...Two years passed until the day My soul was quickly set
upon the journey to my piquant queen
But when I called her name my ears collided with the echo
Searching far and wide no sight was seen

And now in dreams, in life and I fear even in my death
That moon shall hold the shame and never sease
And even as I hide beneath the sheets
It sends its anguish thro the breeze in shrieks!

"Like god's tribunal eye which never winks!" A timeless piece of brilliance, the lovers lost, and only the eye of god to connect them - it becomes his shame...haunts him in his sleep...brilliant
