Anakele

By Aquilla Rage

Lying on a bed of silken cobalt linens
Cool night drifting over me, I dream

Thinking of him, anxious,
Suspecting if tonight he will seize me
from the insufferable dawn
To embrace me this definitive time
taking me to hunt as one

An echo of footsteps
The scent of complex sandlewood
mist spilling into the room

He elegantly walks toward me, avian on air
Tall and thin his outline illuminated by the moonlight
His hair, a Delphian shroud, embracing his ashen face

Rapt, he leans over me, murmuring into my ear,
His breath a wintry chill electrifying down my neck
"I will keep you close with tethers of desire"

Endless waves of sanguine pain
Bleeding into each others wounds
My lacerated body crazed
receding into the starless void

Humid bloodied lips, honeyed copper
I speak his name
"Anakele"

Delicious laughing collided
