Just One Last Time

By Kitt

There is something turning inside me.
It is burning and it refuses to stop.
[A child screaming]
My head aches with the stench of regret. I'm unsure as to why I'm still here; it was never meant to happen like this. I am dying and we are wilting away whilst time passes us by.
[It's so unforgiving]
I feel out of body with you sitting beside me breathing in the outside. How I yearn for you to be breathing me in instead.
[All those eyelashes I blew could not fix this]
I am scared of this being the final goodbye but who would really say when long ago I promised never to consult the tarot cards.
