Dreams

By MidniteBlaze

To sleep I go...

(The screams)
(The pain)
(The agony)

I wake up...
I cannot deal with all this
too much on my mind
to end the day in eternal slumber

Hours pass on by and I try again...

(The memories)
(they burn inside)
(the stress and pressure takes over)

My mind consumes me
and I just cannot contain myself
as the thoughts rush through my head

Someone
something
somehow

Always keeping me on my feet
keeping me from proper relaxation
and nothing much I can do however
about this screwed up situation

Is it a crime to dream?
can I not escape to a personal fantasy
is there no happiness left in this world?

Asleep again...this time for a few hours...

(Relaxation at last)
(until the thoughts come back)
(a sudden rude awakening brings you back to you senses)

I am damned to sleep a peaceful sleep
must I be haunted forever by the perils of the past
why must these feelings be trapped inside
why will the pain not go away

No answer so clear
so I stare at the darkness and wonder
if I can ever truly be content
maybe then I can sleep
maybe then the dreams shall return

Such a wonderful write. Dreams are caused by perspiration. Push your face into your pillow...turn the heat on.
