Let The Flames Rise

By MidniteBlaze

Standing in a dark hallway
thoughts of nothingness
all alone
to experiment on my own
to express the thoughts from my soul
to test thyself
my strengths and weaknesses

Start the process
set my soul ablaze
and see for myself
what stays intact
and what dissapears

The flames rise from my feet below
as they seem to be fine
the blaze raises to my waist
still nothing
up to my chest
my body jolts somewhat

The experiment continues
but becomes more dangerous
as the flames rise further
my heart, no longer pure or certain
before my eyes it starts to burn
used to burn with passion
but now burns with hate and confusion
mostly because of myself

I carry on the flames to my head
not much pain here
however the flames become stronger
because of the bombardment of thoughts
the burden of everyday turmoil
always thinking about several different things
always worried about something

I drop down to my knees
it is time to stop this
I take a hold of the flames
and control them
I contain them
with my own two hands

With my own two hands
I spread the fire
for with my own two hands
I shall end this test
a test of thyself
to see what is wrong
while some pain felt
the fire has helped
helped to make myself pure again
and rid myself of despair

I throw the flames aside
and walk down the hall
away from the flames
here is where I shall return
to dispence of my problems
and become once again
the person I used to be
