Life of a Poem
By Crysa
Pouring my heart and soul onto paper,
so you can read,
these words I savor.
To truly see who I am,
who I try to be,
and maybe even understand.
Without judgment, will you relate,
to the parts of me,
I cant escape?
Only through blood and tears,
can I express,
my many fears.
To one thing or another,
my feelings show through.
No longer will I suffer,
For a few moments, at least,
I know relief.
The burden, released.
Overcome by tunnel vision,
blind to everything,
but my heart's admissions.
So many things coursing through,
confusion so strong,
drowned by truth,
spilling, from a broken dam,
similar, to myself,
everything that I am.
Pressure against my last restraint,
faltering quickly,
'til nothing remains.
Claiming a right for recognition,
standing out, these feelings,
thoughts, and questions.
It makes no difference to me,
make of it what you will.
This is ME you see

This was intense! The opening line: "Pouring my heart and soul onto paper,
so you can read,
these words I savor" grabbed ahold of my attention and never let go. The emotions are powerful and its a very honest poem. I liked the through blood and tears line too and the tunnel-vision was a great use of imagery. Keep writing!
