A Prayer from the Gallows

By Last1inLine

Today has been as bad as the last
cut the rope, my dear
This plastic light is fading fast
cut the rope, my dear
It seems I've carved such a terrible mess
cut the rope, my dear
It seems I'll never settle for less
cut the rope, my dear
You know me all too well, don't you
cut the rope, my dear
My passionate gift for feeling blue
cut the rope, my dear
I never meant to drift this far
cut the rope, my dear
I never dreamt it would leave a scar
cut the rope, my dear
If she could see me now, I believe she'd weep
cut the rope, my dear
Blow out the candles, go back to sleep
cut the rope, my dear
You deserve so much more than this
cut the rope, my dear
The consequences of our first kiss
cut the rope, my dear
