Can You See?
By SorrowSoul
Daylight transcends to darkness
In sorrowful display, the tortured awake
From slumber, seeking to satisfy the craving
The scars burn bright in midnight skies
Creeping poison at their feet
Flesh and bone, aching from life’s grand design
Scattered in shadow, silenced in predestined defeat
Break this living nothingness
Falling, weightless and without end
Desire to discrown the controllers of fate
Pursue this vision of purity
Digging and revealing failings of history
Annihilate the corrupt, redeem the enslaved
Observing dismantling actions with fragile emotions
Only pawns within this chaotic devastation game
Punished for compassion
Shackled and forced to witness tragedy
Time and time again
Eden, now a barren wasteland
And Utopia,
Altered to fit the wants of the consumer
We are all servants to this slow slaughter
But what sets the open eyed apart from the rest is
A realization for lack of equality and understanding
We see
The apathy we live within, knowing or oblivious
Life, on a one way street
Extinction, our final destination
You open your eyes but,
Can you see?

yes just because eyes are open doesn't mean people are seeing the truth, more just what they wanna believe and see. Interesting poem, i appreciate the intelligence in it. DP doesn't seem to have that many thinkers left. ~gothic~
