Sleepless Nights

By innocence

A glance at my past, when I look at what's reality
Awake from a dream, when it's hard to stay asleep
A cold sudden chill. froma  tear down my cheek
A repeated routine, when life cuts you down deep
A drug for the pain, and a pill to keep a beat
A high to hide the anguish, when all you do is weep
A moon of black sorrow, under eyes so bleak
Another hour lost after counting down sheep
