A visit, and a warning.

By AbjectColloquialist

My grandfather appeared in the corner of my room
I immediatly feared of my minds impending doom
"Grandpa" I shivered, I know you to be dead
"Dont fear my sonny. Im just in your head.
I got a little strength, though Id visit."
"From where?" My atheistic mind did inquisit.
His face grew pale and brow began to furrow
"From my grave I am forced to ethrealy burrow."
"I've been there so long, I miss the light of day"
"I've come on this night with one thing I must say"
"In death there is nothing, its dark and its cold"
"I never in life felt so very, very old"
"So dark" he said.
"So dark, my son"
"And to you I will not lie."
"Do not let yourself grow weary and old"
"And never, EVER die."

Note: This is a fragment of my Poem "Attempts at the Regional Dialects of Colombo". They didnt make much sense when together, so I broke them apart.

I like this one, as well. Rage against the dying of the light, so to speak.

fear of death and questions of 2nd lives somewhere else... and the spectre of the question of the nothing our mind can no more comprehend than the infinite.
