pinky finger trailed across a velvet rope

By theBAC

she picked up a framed picture of them
& held it out
“how can you walk away from this?
we fit so perfect in this frame?”

he stops, sighs, & breathes
looking her in the eyes
he says
“we have to fit in here-”
pointing to his head
“-and here.”
pointing to his heart

and she cried & broke the frame
and he said
“you see, even the most perfect of things,
can break”

Brett~ I enjoyed these words tonight, there is good timing, your words sound right for the rhytm in this. Thanks for your kind words about hmm...8 months ago! I just read them again and you have inspired me to once again pick up my pen.
