Lost Without You

By Kali Ma

The imprint of your body lies still in our bed,
though your smell only lingers faintly,
teasingly playing with my hungry senses.
The ruffled black sheets are undying testament
to the fact that you were truly once here beside me -
not a figment of an over-actice imagination,
bringing sweet fantasys to haunting reality.
The empty silk scarfs tied so delicately to the bedposts
bring back blissful memories of tempstous play
and cause a fleeting smile to stain my lips
before the emptiness strikes a lonely chord in my heart
and leaves jewels of tears glimmering in my broken eyes.

Wow, I know exactly how you feel. You painted the picture in my mind and brought back some bad memories of my own. I didn't like the bad memories, but your poem was that good that it did. Very nice.
