DARKNESS...
By Zhee
(this is a really old one....from my early teenage years)
In the depths of this darkness
I can clearly see,
The emptiness in your eyes -
The chaos in your sanity.
In this endless darkness
I hear your cracking shell,
I can touch the walls
Of your prison cell.
In the abyss of this darkness
I can feel your pain,
As you sit and measure
The length of your chain.
In this mute darkness
I hear your stifled rage,
While your voice lies broken
In its gilded cage.
In the shadows of this darkness
I see you sit and pray,
Trying to purge your soul
Of this infernal decay.
In this barren darkness
I witness your silent screams,
From the birth of your fears -
To the funeral of your dreams.
In the heart of this darkness
I feel your every breath,
I can touch your soul -
I can taste your death...

Wow...great piece so well written, though darkness envelopes but the again you'd able to show the real true nature of this piece, and that is the most important thing in poetry. I really like it, same field and I hope to read more from you...Thank you for sharing your art...

Very well done at sticking to the rhyme scheme and the cadence was pretty wonderful too. Good job.

I never wrote anything like this in my teens. I am, however, thankful that you in fact did. ~Shane~
