You are Dead to Me

By Angel With The Scabbed Wings

Its strange,
two people can become so close,
so intimate with one another,
for such a long time.
Then one day it all changes,
then the two are so far apart
living different lives.
So far away from each other.

I remember when
you let me violate you,
you let me penetrate you,
you let me fall in love with you,
now you wont let me even talk with you.

Times we spent together,
are not worth a second thought now.
Exactly just how,
did we fall from what we once where.

I hate you now
and you hate me
we don't even bother to say hello
when we pass on the street.
We just walk by as if we where
the perfect strangers.

Now I wonder
how strange it is ,
that we once
fucked one another.
The most intimate of acts
we committed,
but no longer
do we feel the same,
nor do we acknowledge our failure.

We try again to rebuild our passion.
We know it will fail again,
so why do we bother?
Maybe it is because
we are meant
to hurt one another.

This a great subject for a poem and something a lot of us go through. Love turned to hate. I especially loved the "perfect strangers" line.
