A Dream That Should Not Be

By a restless wanderer

She called today
for the dream last night.
She saw me there
within her plight.
Beneath the stream,
I floated by
and to her side,
I pulled her dry.
For the kiss in thanks,
apologies she tried
for the troubles caused
from those who spied.
This tale I heard,
because I was there.
But why that be,
she did not care.
She loves the man
that saved her life,
but he's not the man
who made her his wife.
She's in his bed;
She dreams of me.
She dreams a dream
that should not be.
