My Home

By Heart of Stone

The boards creek beneath my feet
And drown out the geese’s song
Air is moving about,
Blowing my hair back
There is nothing here but peace
Looking out onto the water
Pictures are painted
On it’s glassy surface
Pictures of my childhood
The water is cold
And crystal clear
The rocks sit at the bottom
Like knights ready for battle
I put my foot in and disturb the peace
Soothing is the sensation
I let the lake take me under
And we become one body.
