Children's Way
By gracefullytorn
It’s simply the children’s way they say
But the words still linger and taunt me
Round and round repeatedly, a never-ending death lullaby
I swore they wouldn’t harm my withstanding soul
But they leaked through into my blood, pulsing into my body, throughout
my veins
But I could feel it in my heart the most
And I could feel it like acid, burning until it reached my soul
Oh these words had hurt me, more than I could have ever thought they would
