Still-born

By Invader Lyn

arms in the air
take your blank stare
never really there
to this we don't care

I give up now, what's the use in trying
what we had before is obviously dying
I've had enough of all my senseless crying
a promise from you is just you lying

I've asked but you don't answer me
I want something that will never be
I'm next to you but you don't even see
I locked my heart and you destroyed the key

did I do something to you to deserve what I got
to be lifted by a lie just as soon to be dropped
look at my face and tell me you forgot
show me I was stupid for loving what I sought

turn away
another day
for this I pay
this macabre play

deserved this
for feelings missed
another blacklist
for the nothing I kissed

Amazing piece of work. I was floored when I was done reading. I can't wait to read more of your work.
