Lingering Suffocation

By Anaelle

It's a wonder why feelings still linger
It's been months since I talked to you
But I can still hear your voice
It's been ages since you treated me
The way you always use to
But I'm still hoping you'll come around
Even the season is starting to change
The sun is still shining
But the leaves are changing colours
And breaking free of their trees
But these feelings will never drift away
Wrapped around me like a warm blanket
That will probably suffocate me
And even as the snow will start to fall
Melting against my still warm skin
I won't stop thinking about you
Try as I might, feelings always linger
As the flakes would linger on the blanket
Forever imprinted on a pinpoint of space
Love...lingers...and I wonder why...

I find writings about love and love lost to be some of the most powerful, this is no exception. Very well done.
