Echoing Love

By Anaelle

You look so distant
Standing there with your smiling lips
Curved so seductively
I thought you onced belonged to me
Perhaps for a second
I had you in my grasp, gripping tightly
But you slipped through my fingers
And now your love echoes
Was it ever really for me?
Or were they just always teasing whispers?
Brushing against lonely ears
You knew
You knew how to trap me
Entrance me until I was yours
And now you're so coldly distant
Won't you give me one shread of hope?
A touch lingering on fingertips
A kiss faint, but distinct against the others
And I longed for you once
Only to long for you still
With your soft, smiling eyes
How inviting, pulling me in
But you're still so distant!
Leaving me cold and shattered
Begging you to pick up the peices
But you only echo, whispers of love
Echoing against the wall
How crazy it seems to listen to such voices
And how soothing it is to be wrapped in words
As they meld together, melting as one
Inaudible murmurs drifting past
Fading into those soft whispers
Of your echoes of love
