Inked Skin

By Anaelle

Tears of poetry splash against my face
Smearing emotions across warm skin
Smudging love and fading hate
Blurring everything I felt before
Drawn out, illedgible words
Sprawled across with a simple blue ink
Beautiful displayed across wanting flesh
But can you read the soft murmurs?
Of a One who has lost so much, so little...
The insane little scribblings
Dripping wet with old, salty tears
That continue to fall onto brittle feelings
Torn pages, bleeding - dry skin
Lost words spilling out from the cracks
Floating along the rivers of blood
Overflowing with the emotional cries
Of all that has been felt
Of the love that has yet to be realized
The pain that simply doesn't fade...
Happiness that always seems out of reach
Of depression that never strays far...
How beautiful the markings are
Expressions long forgotten
Springing from tongues ready to caress
Along the skin of lovers - who never meet

As if this was a mirror image of my life/smudging love and fading hope. The pain that simply never fades/indelible soft murmurs of lovers who never meet.
