Just Another Poem

By Anaelle

The lonely glow of a computer screen
Keeps the room alive with something
Restless typing of tired fingers
As cars drive by unheard
Marking an invisible path on the road
Everyone has some place to go...
Emotions turned to text
In a matter of minutes
Do they mean more on paper?
Are they more personal with ink?
Words drift by...
And then bunch together...
Line after line of verbs and nouns
Strung together by a thread of thought
Inspired by something most trivial
Forgotten poems - written and then lost
Piles and piles of words
Bound together as a book with no plot
Characters go undeveloped
People read and don't care
With overused phrases...
"What a brilliant read!"
"I was trapped up to the last page!"
"A new way of thinking..."
Pop cans litter an already unorganized desk
Pens scattered, feeling useless
The sun sank a long time ago
Leaving the moon to rise without notice
But the computer screen - continues to glow
