Unfallen

By Anaelle

The snow's falling tonight, in the dark
Does it look beautiful to you?
I'm sure it looks beautiful to him
Ever the possessive romantic
You said you like the snow in my hair
Ice crystals melting against warm skin
Giving cheeks a tinge of pink
He never got to see such a sight...
But I know you appreciate it more
Cars drive by
In an attempt not to slip from the lane
And I - trying not to slip from you
He let me fall...
Into my own self distructive patterns
You won't let go, will you?
Cold fingertips finding a firm grasp
Against warmed emotions
Melted from cold, cynical experiences
A kiss, stolen by one another
Raped from the worries and fears
Of two jaded hearts...
Eyes alight, under the streetlamp
With specks of gray and shades of blue
If you could only see...
What he took for granted, ripped to shreads
Torn emotions and a shattered heart
Crumpled peices of poems
That went unread - faded to nothing
Can you read the tear smeared scribbles?
Torn peices of paper, burnt at the edges
Can you make sense of what he left?
If you could only see...
What I wanted him too
If I could only let myself fall anew...
Like fresh snow under a jaded sky
For you
