Shadow's Light

By Anaelle

Out of the darkness came your light
Fading to a soft glow
How comfortable you made me feel
Like things were just right
But there's room for shadows to hide
Wherever the light shines
And I wonder how you keep them away
When nightmares start to invade
The flicker of a candle
Reflections play against the wall
You tell me to dance with you
For the pure love of it all
But how can you smile?
For I know the pain is hidden deep
Shooting stars streaking across your eyes
Which you give me as a keepsake
Something lost and forbidden
A love true to itself
And I told you all will be forgiven...
