Butchered Rhyme

By Anaelle

Yesterday seems so far away
When did your smile fade to gray?
Your eyes where shining so brightly
But I'm afraid I held on too tightly
And now I'm beginning to feel so dull
Slipping away into a comfortable lull
The clouds have overcasted the sky
And I'm left to feeling I should cry
White flakes drift and surround me
Covering every inch of tree
Can you seeing the tears brimming?
Soft pools of emotions swimming
I didn't ask for a coming morrow
Laughter overtaken by sorrow
But you turned and left me alone
The pain becoming overgrown
And I wonder why you should care
Dreams naked and torn
- Leaving me to feel bare

I read "Secrets" before this one and feel bad that things apparently weren't working out how you'd hoped. Then again, both were back in 2001, so hopefully you're no longer feeling this pain so sharply. Best Wishes ~L/S.D.
