Hour Glass

By Anaelle

I see you through an hour glass
Like a strange dream come back to haunt me
My touches not reaching you
My ears failing to hear your words
To see you, but not being able to love you
Rips my soul in two
The glass,
Just like my love,
Is tinted and cracked
The sand slowly running out the sides
As if counting down to something
Your eyes reveal the pain you feel
But I am helpless to ease it
My love not being strong, and true enough
Your lips touch mine
But do not kiss
And in your outward happiness
I am released
The glass cracking once more
Before it breaks
Broken pieces and sand run past my feet
You're now gone
And I feel fine
Before letting go
My soul finally rests
