At The Bar
By TornPaperDoll
She’s broken again
Crying for a kiss
To help heal the wounds
She left on her wrist
She just wants your sympathy
As she comes crying once more
But the booze got the best of her
Leaving her on the floor
And her mascara runs
And drips from her chin
And the more liquid that leaves her body
The more that she puts in
She can’t remember why she’s crying
And maybe it’s better that way
And if she drowns it out
Maybe it’ll all go away…
She’s broken again
Came here to heal her pain,
And it’s kind of a coincidence that that’s
The same reason that I came.

*deep breath* ah this is a truly amazing piece--glad I found it--what you express here is so familiar to me and I love the way you wrap it up with the ending which shows that you are seeing yourself reflected in the subject of your poem--awesome
