Life of the Dead

By PaperPromises

Into this world that lies with torture
Searching for something unknown but pure.
Death surrounds me
Everywhere I turn
Completely overwhelming
I watch it all burn.
Wonder what lies beyond this grave
Among the dead, I become the slave.
What will become
Of my spirit and soul
My body grows numb
I can't feel the cold.
Watching everything as I try to learn
Making sense of the death that I yearn.
Telling my mind
To listen to it all
Ticking away time
Beginning to fall.
Out of this body I watch myself expressionless
Am I in the death of what I obsess.
No self control
Over what's occuring
Lives that were stole
Spirits stirring and blurring.
